The Book of Armagh / County Armagh
Words & Photos is owned and run by a husband and wife team in the market town of Hexham, Northumberland. David Taylor is a well-known and respected freelance photographer, and Tania Taylor is an experienced copywriter and proofreader.
Together they offer a high quality copywriting and photography service to small businesses, social enterprises, magazine editors and publishers – in short, anyone who needs perfectly-worded copy and fine photography to help them get their message across to their target audience.
David and Tania quietly pride themselves on their highly professional, dedicated and friendly approach, and gain enormous satisfaction from the knowledge of a happy client and a job well done.
David has been taking photographs since he was given his first camera for Christmas as a teenager. He became a full-time freelance photographer in 2006, having spent nearly 20 years as a graphic artist in the flourishing computer games industry of the north east of England.
He is equally at home in the great outdoors, capturing beautiful landscape images, as he is in the studio, creating sumptuous product photography for his growing number of commercial clients.
David hosts regular exhibitions of his landscape photography. He runs a highly popular programme of landscape photography workshops at a variety of beautiful locations around northern England, and has also been a guest tutor at the prestigious Inversnaid Photography Centre, in the heart of the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, in Scotland.
David has written and illustrated more than 20 books on photography techniques and specific camera models, mainly for Ammonite Press. He also writes a regular blog for the online My Photo School, where he is also a tutor.

Our freelance copywriter, Tania, loves words. She is passionate about the importance and power of clear, simple communication and good grammar, and has even been known to remove misplaced apostrophes from self-adhesive advertising hoardings. That’s how seriously she takes her job.
Tania especially enjoys the opportunity of taking the time to get to know a client, and to understand their business. In this way, she is able to shape copy that matches her clients’ needs to perfection, and that helps them communicate their marketing message to maximum effect.
Tania has a BA (Hons) in English. She is also a trained proofreader and copyeditor, and has a number of years’ experience of copywriting and proofreading in the Higher Education and small business sectors.
